I went into a BricoMarche yestereday. Looked at the prices for ply ...

Not really changed that much since they shot up a the start of the war to stop Putin invading Paris. But an 8x4 sheet (actually 250x120) is: (approx from memory)

10mm thick, 85 huros
14mm thick 120 hurosss
18 mm thick 155 hurosss
22mm thick (bit less than an inch) 180 huross.

As I stood looking at this plywood, not marine, just run o the mill basic fking pine ply, I thought of Drax power station busy consuming half of north america/s forest every 6 months. Harvested 800 miles inland, put on trains and lorries and transported to the eastern seaboard, loaded onto massive cargo ships to traverse the Atlantic, unloaded, carried once more to be delivered to feed Drax, .. the carbon expense??????? I thought of them blowing up Didcot power station... you know, instead of fitting exhaust scrubbers.

Also, in a time when the public is urged to conserve energy, so therefore might want to buy some ply to line the walls, again, the reality on the ground is two fingers. Ditto rolls of insulation, expansive foam, mirrored glass, foil insulation, etc. Instead of gov inc subsidizing that they'd rather launch hair-brained scams that cost the tax payer millions in waste missmanagement and, yes, scams. Cash for clunkers, the farce of destroying perfectly good cars that could run for another 40 years, subsidies to dentists to buy new electrics, that's fine.

The much vaunted 'recycle' also goes out the window when you see what the assoles just throw in the dump and the rest of the public is not allowed to .. you know, take it out and actually recycle it. Lafarge and big business run france. Them and the gobshyte fonctionare class. Let's put surveillance cameras all over the place around the tip .. you know to stop people taking bits of wood and scraps of foam backed plasterboard ... this fukcing world, no wonder people set themselves on fire
